This is pushing the envelope, because there's nothing gay about "Let's Get Lost" beyond the director [Bruce Weber], and yet ...it "feels" gay. You've got a beautiful and tragic man in Chet Baker, a southern Californian beatnik cool vibe, and cinemetography that seems lifted straight out of Weber's own work.
This is one of the coolest and hippest documentaries I've seen.
If things like Desperate Housewives and Steel Magnolias and Sunset Boulevard can be considered 'gay' [at least among the cocktails and pills crowd], then I say: so can this.
I found a copy on EBay - it's not on Netflix yet. If anyone is in the islands drop a line - we'll get stoned and do a screening.
