Outfest is looking for an intern for the Legacy Project. This paid position will be directly involved in the following initiatives: Conservation/Preservation, Access and Education and will report to the Legacy Project Manager. The intern will accession donated and deposited film and video elements for conservation and access at the UCLA Film & Television Archive, where they will work directly with the Motion Picture Archivist to catalog and inventory the material. In addition, the intern will work at Outfest, where s/he will assist the Legacy Project Manager and Legacy Project Researcher to investigate potential restoration projects and track rare independent LGBT work. Finally, the intern will assist the Archive Research & Study Center Coordinator with outreach projects designed to expand academic and LGBT community research access to the Outfest Legacy Collection.
The intern will receive a $3,000 stipend for a minimum of 15 hours a week for 20 weeks. The position will begin January 2nd, 2007.
Qualified candidates will ideally be in graduate school with an interest in moving image archiving, a background or interest in queer film and knowledge of Filemaker Pro or equivalent databases. This internship must be used towards academic credit in an accredited program.
