don't put yourself through this nightmare... or better yet if you want to have your own mystery science movie night with your friends then this is fodder for good heckling.
also Gods of Olympia... BAD!!!
I don't know how they got the money to make that crap!
and how they got it on NETFLIX.

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Mon, July 24, 2006 - 11:35 PMI figured I was the only one who's seen "Surge of Power." I actually saw it at the Comic-Con last year, with the filmmakers in person. That was an awkward post-screening Q&A.
But, hey, it's the best Christian gay superhero movie I've seen.

Just me describeing the cover sounds bad.
Well it was not on the gay/les list, but the murder was this cute french dyke. the film total sucked, it was another of the crazy Lesbo killer movie. Way to much blood and guts. -

Wed, July 19, 2006 - 8:17 PMI second Strummer - "Eating Out" was painful to watch. It just tried too hard. -

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Thu, July 20, 2006 - 1:02 PMBut for truly awful ... and I'm talking about Plan 9 awful ... dig up Reflections in a Golden Eye. John Huston directed it based on a novel by Carson McCullers - it has an awesome pedigree, which means that it fails all the more spectacularly. Marlon Brando is a repressed homo army officer in the Deep South who stalks a young private [who likes to ride his horse naked through the woods, a la Lady Godiva]. Elizabeth Taylor is his shrill and nasty nympho wife. Julie Harris cuts off her nipples with a garden shears. And she is, in turn, attended by a prancing and dancing Filipino houseboy.
It all sounds so over the top. And yet it's quite boring.

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Mon, July 24, 2006 - 11:34 PMI think he's talking about "High Tension," which I actually liked... until the ending, that basically invalidates the entire film.

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Wed, June 14, 2006 - 12:29 PMthere was a horrible horrible lesbian film kast year at the SF queer film festival where the audience was laughing the whole time and it was suppose to be this "hot" film about these two couples having an affair. the dialogue was painful. it made claire of the moon look good.

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 6:23 AMI've seen quite a few bad ones. Theres one called 10 that's just horrible and another one called Citrus hearts I believe.... which could have been a decent story except it looked like their film budget was about $3.85. I swear that one made me more dizzy than the first Blair Witch project the camera jumped so much.

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Sun, July 9, 2006 - 8:11 PMYou are right 'Issues 101' is pretty rubbish, but is anyone with me on calling 'Eating Out' one of the most over-rated pieces of shit ever filmed? Come on, I can't be the only one that HATED this tripe? -
-
Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Mon, July 24, 2006 - 11:34 PMOver-rated? You mean there are people that liked it? Who are these people and what can I hit them with?
It's still better than "The Singing Forest," which may be one of the worst movies ever made, gay or not.

Re: Name the truely aweful Gay movies here
Mon, July 24, 2006 - 11:41 PMA couple films like "Hard" and "In the Flesh" come to mind--both are so self-important and heavy-handed that you can tell that the filmmakers really had something VERY! IMPORTANT! TO! SAY! and yet they're so ineptly made that any kind of message is garbled into nonsense. Hilarious.
The opposite is the gay-themed comedy that doesn't manage to be funny at all. ("Lie Down With Dogs," anyone?) A bad comedy has nowhere to go but the dumpster.
